It is true that once more Classic is in the midst of a huge success and WoTLK Gold the ever-present issues that plague servers have finally been resolved to the point that Blizzard had taken decisive and a hefty hand. Today we have a massive quantity of information explaining issues why nothing else can be done and that most important, Blizzard say the time is now to put an end to the notion of a mega realm because of the extreme long posts. In order not losing points in between each post. I've prepared a little bit of an overview of the whole thing which I want to review at the start here.
The pre patch is the straw that has broken the camel's back. Blizzard don't want massive brands to be created or in the long run and are committed to getting the player base to expand across a larger spectrum of realms Blizzard might lock a realm, but with no idea how to warn if the number of players increases to a point that it is too high locking high population servers and offering transfer services for free is the way to go. locks, which means no transfers and no new characters created there is no technical solution to raise server caps anymore the locked servers are just fall layering that doesn't raise the cap it simply serves as an emergency valve when a particular part of the world receives a huge portion of traffic.
As an example my server pyre village is currently full in the realm list but there are only 2 layers as everyone is dispersed across the globe on the launch of TBC. The server reached I believe 12 layers, as each player in the entire game was standing outside of that zone. Dark Portal Blizzard are aware of the queues that are in place but aren't planning to add any new rounds due to expect a drop off of players are second retail both employ the same technology on the back end. However, server numbers haven't been as big as they currently have on classic locked around may remain in that condition for months in the event of need. And if nothing changed and they don't take action it would increase in anger.
That's the TLDR version. It's time for the slightly longer one. First up thanks to community council and developer agriland. Community Council and developer agriland for the discussion that we have here, even if this isn't everything you'd like to hear. I'd take this any day over silence. Therefore, I am grateful for the effort and time that has gone into these posts and bringing us up to date on the current situation.
I'd like to talk about the tools player used to evaluate the population of brown. This isn't just going to reiterate what I've said about what about what the stock Pro will do for the many times they've used it in a row. We do, in general, use Ironforge dot Pro and whilst it's not perfect, I believe it's an acceptable impression. However, in this weird phase of pre-patches every single period of time, it's unable to provide adequate information currently. it's based on PvP leaderboards, there's no active arena season in the moment, and cheap WOW WoTLK Classic Gold players uploading their Warcraft logs.
