Even as good as the Bears defense is, in 2018 the quarterback and the offense should be playing at a high-level to win in the playoffs.

This being said, I believe it's the right time to invest in the Bears as they are a year away from real Super Bowl contention. The Lions might not be alive in the present but Chicago took on the road to a division rival using a backup QB on short notice and won. That's huge. Washington couldn't have done it.
