RuneScape gold these terms brings up hundreds of websites, some of which have one of the terms mentioned in their URL, offering currencies in RuneScape to exchange real money. This came after the announcement on October 13 that Jagex had put an end with "real-world trading". In a post on their blog "The RuneScape Team" clarified that "gold that is purchased via RWT real world trading can cause problems in every online game with traded currency."
Jagex promises to start sending "messages to players who we've identified as being involved on RWT" within "the next few hours". "For anyone who was involved, we want to be clear : this is your single all-encompassing warning" it added.
In addition, the announcement was regarding the games PvP mode, Duel Arena, would have sweeping changes, which included the more strict enforcement of the game's code of conduct, in order to foster more positive playing. Jagex affirms that the feature "has been a catalyst for this toxic behaviour".
In the meantime publishers say that "short-term measures" will be put into place "until our development teams are able create a major update which completely replaces the Duel Arena next year."
