Steamforged Games have announced that it will partner with creator Jagex in order to launch RuneScape to RS gold tablet computers later this year. The MMORPG will be getting not just one but two tablestop versions: a game board game and a tabletop RPG game. The board game will debut on Kickstarter later this year and the tabletop version will go straight to retailers.
Both games will draw an inspiration from the world of fantasy in RuneScape, Gielinor. The games will feature some of the same characters, stories, as well as locations of the MMORPG has made famous over its lengthy time. The board game will send up to five players in an adventure based on quests through the land of Gielinor.
In the announcement from Steamforged players can "craft and upgrade equipment as well as upskill their characters cook special recipes, engage with NPCs, and test their abilities while exploring different regions of the globe".
