Genshin Impact accounts released their most broken character's latest research. She’s don't available inside seasonal rotation, but fans will still be upset at her lackluster abilities. While some players have already been submitting reports and airing their grievances on Twitter, others have gone a measure further. Players who may have regularly spent money on Genshin have announced how they will not pay to experiment with it.
Genshin itself is free, but players can drop from a few bucks to a lot of money on in-game currency, which can use to roll for randomized characters or set upgrade packs. Dehya is really a premium fire-element character who was simply only recruitable for a limited time. Fans were intrigued by her bold character design and courageous involvement in the perilous main story quests, and a lot of them were excited to invest their hard-earned currency to be with her three-week banner. Unfortunately, leaks indicated that the scaling of the abilities was underwhelming. Players still held out hope that developer HoYoverse would patch things up before launch.
They wouldn't. Fans were flabbergasted when they personally found that Dehya’s damage numbers were low, jumping would offset her ultimate attack, understanding that her attacks didn’t activate popular support abilities. Players also discovered other difficulties such as how easily she got knocked back during her ult, the ability to die from her ability, and receiving stuck-in environmental objects. Her fans attempted to get HoYoverse to solve her, by submitting customer service tickets that will get the FixDehya tag to trend on Twitter. Even now, new Genshin character announcements are flooded with demands from angry Dehya players.
Once again, I reiterate: HoYoverse won't profit from releasing characters that players deem unusable. Fan appeal could be the core of their business model. And as other fans have stated, this lady has deep tie-ins using the setting and interesting relationships along with other characters. These are the qualities that led fans to obtain so bought her in the first place. There are buy genshin impact accounts, players who consider that Dehya is technically still playable, the beds base game is simple, or how the point of pulling characters is personal attachment as an alternative to meta. But they’re a little minority.
Character frustrations become cynicism towards HoYoverse
More frustrated players talk about how Dehya’s regular performance doesn’t measure to older Genshin characters, ultimately causing concerns that the developers can get “lazy” or commit “false advertising” with future character releases. “If HoYoverse will get away with releasing an unfinished character, this could happen again in the future for a favorite character!” read a well-known graphic that’s really being passed across the community. And determined by your level of investment inside meta, a completely decked-out character cost up to $5,000 actually dollars. If players obtained a $60 standalone game, then their complaints might feel overblown. But HoYoverse is ostensibly selling them limited items, and so they expect to have their currency’s worth. The company has previously fixed buggy characters for example Zhongli and Yae Miko, so their hopes weren’t unfounded.
But Dehya’s limited-time run is finished, and HoYoverse still hasn’t issued an official response about her abilities. This has shattered some fans’ faith in the company’s willingness to produce high-quality products for its players.
“I’ll hang in there for Fontaine and discover what happens for some other characters, but they’ve already knocked one spending player right down to [free-to-play],” wrote one Redditor. Another fan saw their spending habits change drastically during Dehya’s release. “It’s incredible really. I went from debating C6R5 [which costs around $5,000] or C6R1 never to spending anything within this patch and wondering if I should even find the [battle pass],” they wrote. “The only thing Dehya might actually be a bodyguard for was my wallet, it seems like.”
“Got me to look from [monthly] Welkin/[battle pass] player together with the annual 2x crystal bonuses buyer to your non-spender from here on out,” vowed another player whose purchases would've racked up over $500 per year. “The entire reason I was fine spending cash this game was having confidence [that these] characters I like will be fun to experiment with. Dehya’s absolutely massacred that notion.” Some players felt that HoYoverse was obviously a reliably consistent game designer before Dehya’s release. “I’m now 100% sure I won’t spend a cent within this game anymore since every future 5 [star character] they’re gonna tease which may push me to avoid wasting primogems / spend a little bit might end up being just one more Dehya,” an admirer wrote on Reddit. Even a player who obtained Dehya and designed to main announced that they didn’t mean to pay for the game in the future.
Both high-spenders and casual players also deserve a normally-powered Dehya. HoYoverse hyped her release for weeks, and they also should have released a character who lived as much as all of the marketing. Unfortunately, she ended up worse than every other character in the game.
“The sad part is, pretty much everything idiotic kit design took in the tremendous effort I’m sure,” wrote one fan. “The concept is different and dealt with. She would are actually less sabotaged as long as they actually put minimal effort in their own kit.”
