"When an investor passes on you, they will not tell you the real reason," stated Tom Blomfield, a Y Combinator partner. "At the seed stage, no one knows what the hell is going to happen. The future is really unknown. They are just assessing the founder's perceived excellence. When they pass, they believe that this individual isn't outstanding enough. Not formidable. Not intelligent enough. Not hardworking enough. Whatever it is, 'I am not certain this individual is a winner.' And they will never say anything to you since it will make you sad. And then you won't want to toss them again."
